Tagging
INFO NOTE: SCIENTIFIC DATA NOW TELLS US THAT SHARKS ARE GOING DEEPER AND TRAVELLING FURTHER THAN ORIGINALLY ANTICIPATED.

What originally began
as an aside for Blue Shark Fishing Charters has become an essential part of
the way we operate. Tagging is very important for the study and research into
shark populations and behaviors.
We currently tag shark for the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, and the
APEX Predator Program. We have also participated in project work conducted
by Dalhousie University, such as a recent satellite tagging project for Blue
Shark.
Personally, I have come to learn that the thrill of simply attracting and catching shark is sufficient sport, and that killing shark really serves no purpose. These are my personal views and this is the way I choose to operate my business.
Catching, measuring, dehooking, tagging, and releasing shark is certainly a hands-on experience and one which my clients find extremely exciting and satifying.
